From the top of the world

MONUMENT VALLEY, Az. --- Brendan's Isle voyaged yesterday to Mesa Verde, Colo., where we were at more than 8000 ft., then trucked to Monument Valley, Az. in the middle of the night.

At Mesa Verde, an amazing smoke watcher came out of her observation tower to catch a horned lizard to show Liam, who had to hold it and has been talking about drawing pictures and taking them to show the lizard.

We arrived, after a thunder storm, at Monument Valley at 3:30 in the morning, but I was up before 5 to take pictures of the sun rising over the rock formation, then trekked a mile or so taking pictures of horses grazing in the early morning.

We are on from here to parts unknown ... either to the Grand Canyon or up to Zion and Joshua Tree before submitting to the gloom of Vegas for a week.
